|The setting of the Annual North Toronto Garden Party and Potluck Picnic|
July is always a great month at North Toronto Hort. Not only is summer in full swing but it's also time for our annual garden tour and picnic party. This year members are invited to visit the historic gardens at Spadina House. There's so much to see at this beautiful property: more than 300 varieties of plants fill the elaborate garden beds. Be sure to watch for the magnificent white oaks, which were growing before Spadina House was even built. There’s also an orchard featuring varieties of apples not readily available today. Full tour details including maps are available in the July/August newsletter or from membership co-director Andy McCraw.
After the tour, be sure to bring your appetite and some finger foods to the post tour garden party. This year NTHS members Mary Audia and Andy McCraw will be our gracious hosts. Members are in for a real treat. As many of you know, Mary has one of the greenest thumbs at North Toronto Hort. This is a great chance to see her efforts up close. Here's a sneak peak at the lovely setting for our garden party.
Admit it. This is one garden you don't want to miss. It's always bursting with blooms.
Mark Tuesday July 12th on your calendar for a wonderful afternoon of garden inspiration at Spadina House followed by an evening of food and fun at Mary and Andy's. We'll see you there.
